Intended as a companion piece to Rum on an Empty Stomach, "Girl" is based heavily on rich girls I knew in and after high school who gravitated toward strong, troubled girls who came from lower class backgrounds. There was guilt in being born into a wealthy family and they were envious of these girls for their independence and wanted badly to be like them.

I started a notebook on "Girl" years ago but put it aside to work on other projects.
