The idea for Hesh Isaacman came from joking around with Ian about what the phone call between Roman Polankski and his lawyer would sound like if you could only hear one side of the conversation. I created the character to be a sleazy, fun loving shiester who transcends time. Every episode would be set in a different time period and the style would reflect that. Hesh would constantly be trying to look on the bright side as the facts of each case got worse. It also came from a desire to make Ed wear a polka dot bowtie. The episodes cost about $30 to produce. Future episodes under consideration are Fatty Arbuckle, Errol Flynn, Michael Jackson, Phil Spectre, & Michael Vick. There were also brief rumblings of a spinoff "Hesh Isaacman: Celebrity Stuntman".
